Her Forbidden Escape
Up in her own little world, won’t ever come down
She looks outside, shimmering lights all over this town
Secluded and afraid, but she swears she’s content
“I’m lying to myself, that’s not what I meant”
She does what she pleases amongst all the trees
But that’s not enough, she wants to feel free
“Where could I go? Who could I meet?”
He found her in her own little world, she thought she’d never come down
She thought of the lights, the ones over this town
He brought her to them, an escape from her mind
She’d never known someone at all, let alone someone so kind
She thought of her old habits, she knows they’ll die hard
Then she looked at him, she knew her past was barred
A love she thought she couldn’t have, completely forbidden
Standing right in front of her, story unwritten
He was the brightest light amongst all the rest
She escaped her own little world saying, “I’m so glad I left.”
